Due to its geographical location, Australia is no stranger to cuisine from the Far East and South East Asia and this is particularly true in the country's largest and most cosmopolitan city, Sydney. Kobe Jones is a big name in Japanese and Asian food and the Kobe Jones restaurant in Sydney exemplifies the very best of the restaurant brand, in style, menus and location. Super chic, innovative and ultra modern, Kobe Jones sits effortlessly within the confident contemporary cityscape of Sydney.

Kobe Jones, Sydney is located in the Kings Wharf area of the city, close to the central business district. Occupying a beautiful spot with views over Darling Harbour, the restaurant has become one of the most popular and fashionable eateries in the city. The secret of its success is in not conforming to the image of the traditional far eastern styles and themes which dominate other such restaurants. Rather, Kobe Jones is an ultra modern fusion of contemporary Japanese style and Californian westernised tastes.

The chic design of the restaurant interiors is enhanced with full length glass doors which open onto a covered terrace, and wonderful Darling Harbour views from every table. Additionally there are intimate spaces in which to enjoy some cosy dining as well as offering ideal opportunities for business lunches and social evenings with friends and colleagues. The restaurant also makes the ideal venue for private dining and hosting special events and stylish celebrations. Late night dining is also a feature of the restaurant. Supper menus start from 9.45pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
The fusion between Japanese and Californian cuisine has been incredibly successful, resulting in an extensive menu of fresh, light dishes. Popular starters include the Californian inspired Volcano Roll, topped with seared scallop and sesame seeds, a Crab Salad with avocado, baked in red snapper, and Soft Shell Crab served with crab salad and smelt roe.
The main courses are equally as inspiring, with a menu dominated by fish dishes. These include Seared Tuna Steak with a seafood risotto, and Green Tea Salmon, served with nori cream and wasabi mash. A great way to sample a selection of specialities is to opt for a banquet menu, suitable for groups of four or more persons. Specials are also available all year round, such as the Bento Box, a lunch special including a choice of beef, chicken, seafood or vegetarian dishes. An alternative special includes miso soup, sushi, rice, daily dessert and wine, saki, or Kirin beer.
The Bar within Kobe Jones is every bit as stylish and sophisticated as the restaurant areas. Famous for its fantastic range of cocktails, Australian wines and imported beers, there is also of course an exception selection of saki. Enjoy a weekend drink in wonderful surrounds accompanied by chilled ambient music. All the better if that drink is one of the amazing Kobe Jones cocktails. Favourites include the Shanghai Martini, Watermelon Ceprioska, Sweet Life, and the Kobe Jones Sunset.
The location, style and cuisine of Kobe Jones make for an ideal venue for private events and functions. Being so close the Central Business District of the city, corporate dinners and business lunches are popular and with stunning views over Darling Harbour, any event such as a cocktail party or other social celebration will benefit from the remarkable backdrop and chic contemporary environment.
The flexible lay out of Kobe Jones, incorporating the restaurant, terrace, bar and semi-private dining area means the space can be tailored for any size of event, up to 500 people for cocktails. A great venue too for meetings, day packages are available and the restaurant can be equipped with audiovisual technology if required.
